Lots of chains and individual hotels will be having blowout sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Here are some things to think about:

  1. Many of these deals will be prepaid / non-refundable. Make sure you have some idea where you would like to go and what dates will work if you have to book a non-cancelable room.
  2. A lot of these deals are very loosely defined in advance and you’ll need to act quickly.
  3. Some deals won’t really be deals. If a hotel is offering 20% off Sunday to Thursday in their off-season, it’s NOT a Black Friday Deal.
  4. Remember that prepaid rates through major online booking channels will not earn you points or loyalty program benefits or stay credits.

Extreme Hotel Deals has compiled a massive list of Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. Many look interesting (and will sell out in seconds), some not so much. If you want to check if a particular state has a deal, definitely head over to their page to see what they found.

Expedia has a few:

Air New Zealand UK is running some deals where a small number of people will be able to book flights to NZ from 175 pounds London to LA and London to New Zealand from 175 and 399 pounds respectively, as well as some mystery deals. I’m not sure why only the UK site….
