Yahoo Finance is reporting that JetBlue is capping all direct flights out of cities affected by Hurricane Irma at $99 (or $159 if a connection is needed).

They have also increased capacity on the routes. That said, I’m seeing very little availability searching from MIA and FLL to NYC.  For instance, I see one seat on Friday (grab it if you need it!). In fairness, I’m only searching to NYC and not nationwide because, well, time.

Delta isn’t capping anything but I do see one seat on Saturday for $143. Trouble is, that is likely too late to actually fly.

Meanwhile, AA has flights from over $400 and United from over $700!!

So kudos to JetBlue for at least trying to actually get people the heck out of harm’s way without gouging!
