Just like my posts on whether or not it’s worthwhile to buy American Airlines miles at 2 cents a mile and whether it’s worth it to pay half a cent for Hilton points, the answer to this one once again be.

If you can find a redemption now, on Hyatt.com, that is a better deal than 1.1 cent a point and you will take the trip anyway, they BUY!

But if you have nothing in mind, it’s not so screamingly great. Yes, I can usually find Hyatt deals at 1.5 cents a point or better. You will *probably* come out ahead buying at these prices. But in general, always remember that hotel programs always increase the amount of points needed at properties over the long term and what you see as a deal today may not be there in a year. And you don’t earn interest on banked points.

So do your math and, if you decide to try for the deal today, good luck!
