I read two different posts on this today: One from Gary @ View from the Wing talking about it and then, while I was writing this, I noticed God Save the Points wrote a recap of Gary’s post that includes a nice discount code.

The Deal:

US Mobile is promoting a plan for $10 a month for their worldwide Wifi. While I don’t know all the spots you can use that, I do know that one of the places you can use it is any airplane with Gogo Inflight Wifi.

This is insane, because Gogo charges $19 for a day pass (one airline), $29 for a multi-airline day pass, and $50 a month for access to one airline (unlimited).

With this deal, you are getting that same access, unlimited for all airlines, for just $10.

You can see all the participating airlines (which are connected via iPass) here.

But then God Save the Points found that you can use promo code RPUSMWIFI to knock $4 off the $10 – for a $6 total.

The catch?

For one, your pass attaches to one device. So once you attach it to your laptop, you cannot use it on your desktop – and vice versa. You could buy two passes for $12, though.  I’m not sure if buying it for your phone and tethering devices would work, but I’m guessing no.

The only other is that it appears to be a one-time 30-day pass – meaning it won’t conveniently auto-renew.  At this price, I’d honestly rather pay $72 for a year and forget about it…

I’ll be traveling a lot in August so I just bought a pass and I’ll give it a whirl on Tuesday and report back.

Would you buy this pass?  Let me know in the private MilesTalk Facebook group or in the comments.
