You’ve heard me talk (write) plenty about the offers in Atlantic City right now. If you have any of the right statuses to start with, you can get up to 5 free nights in Atlantic City this summer.

And the Ocean is a beautiful casino hotel, especially for Atlantic City. But what about after this summer? And what if you don’t have one of the starting statuses to even get the free nights this summer?  How can the average Joe stay there for free – even in summer and even on Saturday night?

It’s pretty simple:

World of Hyatt points.

The Ocean Resort is part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection. If they have a standard room available, which is a majority of the rooms, you can book one for points. There is also a Cash + Points option that has been available so far every day that points has been, though that could change.

The current rate, in points, is 12,000 World of Hyatt points per night. Here’s the cash rate and the points rate for this coming Saturday night:

Booking using points is simple. You just login to your Hyatt account, search for Atlantic City, select “Use Points” and book!

I hear you, though, you don’t have any Hyatt points.

No problem! Because Hyatt points are some of the easiest to come by. You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to your Hyatt account – instantly!

And you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards from three Chase cards:

Each of these cards has a rich signup bonus. The first two, of which you can only get one, have 50,000 point signup bonuses when you spend $4,000 in 3 months. The Chase Ink Preferred has an 80,000 point signup bonus when you spend $5,000 in 3 months. (See also: Chase Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Preferred: Which is right for you?)

But there are other, no-annual fee, Chase cards that also earn Ultimate Rewards. These other cards can’t transfer to Hyatt on their own, but if you have one of the three cards above, you can combine points.

That means that you can collect points with a Chase Freedom, Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase Ink Cash, or Chase Ink Unlimited – all of which have signup bonuses and no annual fee – and move those points over to a Reserve, Preferred, or Ink Preferred to transfer to Hyatt – 1 Ultimate Rewards point = 1 Hyatt point.

Finally, there is a new World of Hyatt credit card out that has a 60,000 Hyatt point signup bonus when you meet minimum spend requirements. That’s 5 free Saturday nights at the Ocean Resort. Although, maybe we can find you some better places to spend some of those new found Hyatt points…

Now, please don’t go nuts opening all of these cards. They are for you to select one or two from, not all!!

And if you are new to this, please read this post on Chase’s 5/24 rule and, if you’d like, Live Chat me or send me an email to ask for advice first.
