I got an email this morning from Citi offering to enroll my Citi Premier card in a promotion (thank you one-click enrollment!) for the following:

Use your card to earn 10% back as a statement credit, up to $25, through 06/30/2021 on eligible purchases you make at:

If you are in a cash crunch, you should avoid travel rewards credit cards until you are caught up. Here are our favorite credit cards for Intro 0% APR offers and for balance transfer offers

  • Hotels
  • Travel Agencies

This offer excludes purchases made at warehouses. Purchases must post to your account during the promotional period to qualify.

citi 10% off travel

You’ll need to watch your email for the invitation where you’ll activate or you may get a mailer by snail mail.

This is a great offer to have on a Citi Premier since it earns 3X on air travel and hotels (any regular direct rate works) so it’s a no brainer to stack one of those categories with the $25 off of $250.

While I only got this offer on one of my 7 Citi cards, that’s not unusual at all and you might be targeted on any of your Citi cards. I recently also got a 5X on online purchases on my Thank You Preferred card 9which I otherwise never use) but not any other cards. And the rollout of Citi’s “Offers” program has been even more bizarre. I have the offers on just 3 of 7 cards, and while I have two Double Cash cards, I can only use the Offers on one of them – so it doesn’t even appear Citi targets by card product.

yottaWhat is Yotta Savings?: The Yotta Savigs account is a really fun way to earn interest at a higher rate than Marcus while having some fun each night when the Yotta prize ball drops. Currently, the statistical odds imply a net savings rate of between around 1% and 3% - at a time when banks like Marcus are offering a paltry 0.5%. Plus, it's fun! | Read my review of Yotta.

I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! A few years ago I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at this year's South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born.
