When people ask about the American Express Business Platinum card, I say that if the benefits align with your needs, it’s an excellent card with strong benefits. I recently got one myself.

My own card

But I also point out that while standard offers are often from 60,000 – 75,000 points, they occasionally send out targeted emails or mailers for 100,000 bonus points. And since you can only get an Amex new card bonus once per lifetime, I advise to never take less than 75k and hold out for 100k if you don’t have an immediate need.

So I’m super happy to report that a 100,000 point welcome offer is now live.

Just one catch: The offer does require $25,000 in spend within 3 months.

  • Limited Time Offer: Earn up to 100,000 Membership Rewards® Points.
  • Earn 50,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $10,000 & an extra 50,000 points after you spend an additional $15,000 all on qualifying purchases within your first 3 months of Card Membership. Offer ends 8/8/18.†

If your business can easily meet the spend, it’s a nice time to pick up this card and the bonus. Remember, while the card has a $450 annual fee, the card also comes with $200 in annual airline credits, Global Entry Reimbursement, Priority Pass for your and two guests, Escape Lounge access, and, more excitingly, access to the exclusive Centurion Lounges. You’ll also get 35% back in points (in all classes on your selected preferred airline and in First/Business on any airline) making points redemption equal to that of the Chase Sapphire Reserve portal.

And the 100,000 point bonus is worth $1,000 at a bare minimum, but really can be worth easily $1,500 using Pay With Points or even more by transferring to airline partners. For instance, you could fly on American Airlines round trip to Europe in Business Class or First Class for 100,000 Membership Rewards points by transferring your Membership Rewards points to Etihad. (Confrm availability before booking – remember, Etihad awards on AA must be booked by phone.) This one bonus can be a round trip Business/First class ticket to Europe (easily worth $2,500++).
