citibusiness thankyou bonus

I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve received an “Activate this bonus offer” on my CitiBusiness ThankYou card.

What is the CitiBusiness ThankYou® Card?

For those of you that aren’t familiar with the product, Citi offers a business version of the ThankYou card, simply called the CitiBusiness ThankYou® Card. They essentially don’t want you to know it exists (zero marketing) and won’t let you apply online – but you can get it in a branch complete with a bonus offer. As is generally the case, receiving a bonus on the CitiBusiness ThankYou card is completely independent of the personal ThankYou card bonuses, like the Citi Premier. There’s also no annual fee.

The card earns 1X on everything normally, except for rotating 3X categories each quarter.

Get 60,000 Citi ThankYou points when you spend $4,000 in 3 months. Using Turkish as a transfer partner, this could be worth 2 round trip domestic flights in Business Class or just 30,000 points shy of a roundtrip flight to Europe in Business Class! Get This Offer

5X Bonus for 2.5 Months on Dining and Gas

Today, I was emailed this offer for 5X points on gas and dining through January 31, 2020.

I *think* it should be up to 2,500 total bonus points, meaning $625 in total spend.

It’s worth noting that while I already earn 5X on dining on my Citi Prestige, I do keep business and personal expenses separate, so it’s nice to have the option for business dining spend. And for gas, there are only 5 business credit cards that earn a bonus for gas, none of which reach 5X.

Overall, not a bad deal and worth checking your email for if you have this card. If you don’t, knowing that they run these specials on the card may make it just a bit more interesting.

Just note that while you can link the ThankYou account to your others (combined), the card itself sits on an archaic Citi system that must be from the 80s and that cannot be linked to your other accounts. You’ll need a login just for this card for the outdated account page, which at least for me keeps me from using it as often as I would otherwise.
