While the standard online offer is 50,000 – 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points, you can get 70,000 Ultimate Rewards points right now if you walk into a Chase bank branch and ask for the offer. I believe it will be available the next two weeks – or until mid-May 2016.

Here’s a link to the Chase Ink Plus card features and benefits.

The most important benefit is that the card earns Chase’s Ultimate Rewards currency (one of my favorites along with SPG Starpoints and Citi’s Thank You Points). Why? Because you can use these points 3 primary ways:

Singapore Airlines 1st Class Suite (Courtesy: Singapore Airlines Media Kit)

1) You can transfer to a variety of airlines, including some programs that are hard to earn from the US otherwise. My favorite option is Singapore Airlines, where you could take a ride in a first class suite from JFK-Frankfurt for less than the cost of this one signup bonus (around 53,000 miles plus tax/fees).

2) You can spend them on flights with a 20% discount. (i.e. $100 in flight credit for 8,000 points)

3) If you REALLY want, you can just redeem for cash at a penny a point.

So they are super flexible.

With the in-branch bonus offer, it’s a great time to try it out.
