Wow.

Argentina Bans Domestic and International Flights Until Sept 1

Argentina will not allow ticket sales for flights until September 1st, due to the coronavirus. Its borders have been closed to non-residents since mid-March, but it was unexpected that they would issue a decree on all air traffic – foreign and domestic – for such a long time this early.

Argentina is currently 53rd on Google’s COVID tracker, with 3,892 cases and 192 deaths, so I’m surprised that the took such measures so soon.

While Spain has indicated that tourism may not restart in 2020 and Italy even later, they are #2 and #3 on the list (the USA is #1).

I guess this gives a bit more fuel to my thinking that just because we become ready to travel again, doesn’t mean that we will be able to go wherever we want.
