Bilt (which launched the “2.0” Bilt Palladium, Bilt Obsidian, and Bilt Blue credit cards last week) has given us a first look into how Bilt Cash will work. As a reminder, in addition to earning $50 in Bilt Cash per 25,000 Bilt Points earned (regardless of credit card), you earn 4% of your non-rent/mortgage spend back as Bilt Cash. i.e. if you spend $5,000 in a month, you would earn $200 in Bilt Cash in addition to the points earned on this card.
I’ll also note that we are expecting to see Bilt Cash redeemable for myriad Bilt status related benefits like transfer bonus multipliers. They give one example of that below – $75 to “upgrade” from the Gold transfer bonus level to the Platinum level.
The uses of Bilt Cash are important because they represent the opportunity cost of using Bilt Cash to earn points on rent/mortgage payments (for which you need to spend $30 in Bilt Cash to earn points on $1,000 of rent/mortgage payments.
I think the key to getting ones head around these cards is remembering the 4% Bilt Cash is in addition to card points earning, although that doesn’t change that you want to redeem it in the best possible way which may well not be for earning points on rent and mortgage payments!

How do monthly credits work?
Each calendar month, you can choose how to use your available Bilt Cash credits. Once a
monthly credit is used, it resets at the start of the next calendar month.
Some benefits reset annually or after completion rather than monthly. You can always see your available credits, reset timing, and redemption instructions in the Wallet tab.
Are there limits on Bilt Cash redemptions?
Some benefits include monthly or annual limits. These limits help keep popular benefits widely available while providing predictable value for members.
For benefits labeled “up to” a maximum amount, you can redeem any amount up to that
maximum for a single use. Any unused portion resets when the benefit refreshes.
For benefits with a fixed amount, you’ll need that exact amount of Bilt Cash available to
redeem.
Does Bilt Cash expire?
Bilt Cash earned during the calendar year expires at year-end. To give you flexibility, up to $100 of unused Bilt Cash automatically rolls over into the next year.
How is Bilt Cash different from Bilt Points?
● Bilt Points are variable-value points designed for high-value redemptions like travel
transfers outside of Bilt’s ecosystem and long-term goals like paying down student loans.
● Bilt Cash provides simple, dollar-for-dollar value for clarifying everyday benefits and
experiences in Bilt’s home and neighborhood platform.
They’re designed to work together.
Will Bilt Cash replace or reduce my points?
No. Bilt Cash is an addition to Bilt Points and does not reduce your point earnings.
Can I transfer Bilt Cash to airline or hotel partners?
No. Bilt Cash is designed for use within the Bilt ecosystem. That’s what keeps Bilt Points
especially valuable for travel transfers.
Where can I see my Bilt Cash balance?
You can view your Bilt Cash balance, available credits, and redemption options anytime in the Wallet tab on the Bilt app or website.
