Bonus Increased to 70,000 Miles on CitiBusiness AAdvantage Card
My general advice on applying for the CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard® (How to Apply) is to get it when the bonus is 70,000 miles or more. We’ve seen
75,000 miles, but that’s generally been by targeted offer. It has fluctuated between 60,000 and 70,000 miles most of the time, so when it’s 70,000 miles, you can feel pretty good that you won’t see a drastically better deal next month.
Keep in mind the bonus eligibility rules:
American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® account in the past 48 months.
This is a strict limit with no way around it, so you want to get the offer when it’s good.
Are AAdvantage miles worth acquiring?
It goes without saying that we aren’t flying right now. But one day we will get back to normal, even if it’s next year, and yes, I do think AAdvantage miles are some of the best out there.
I summarize why in this blog post: 5 reasons American Airlines AAdvantage miles are underrated.
- 2X miles on American Airlines purchases
- 2X miles at some telecommunications merchants, car rentals, cable and satellite bills, and at gas stations.
- 1X miles on everything else
