equinox manchester village vermont marriott

One of my favorite New England hotels has long been the Equinox. I first went there in 2006 and have returned semi-regularly ever since.

While it may not be the most modern hotel in the Luxury Collection portfolio, it holds a certain classic charm that isn’t so commonplace in the area.

With a huge nature reserve to hike on, a pool and outdoor jacuzzi, and the historic vibe all around, I’ve always enjoyed my stays there, even if I always wished the food was just a bit better.

But it seems that my time at the Equinox will come to an end, as they are departing Marriott Bonvoy, with February 18, 2021 being the last day you can check out of the hotel on a Marriott stay. If you do a one day flexible search on the Marriott flexible search, you’ll see no availability from that day on.

Whether they reflag under another chain isn’t known, but if I had to guess, I would think they were frustrated with the Bonvoy costs and want to give it a run on their own. And then when they see the pure power of a loyalty program to bring you guests, they may reconsider and look for a new affiliation. We’ll have to wait and see. Their own website is now completely unbranded.

HT to Points, Miles and Martinis for noticing this.
