But it probably isn’t the one you’ve been hoping for.
In this article
Venetian / World of Hyatt Tier Match
Thanks to MilesTalk group member Mike C. for bring my attention to this new match, which can get a Venetian Rewards member up to Hyatt Globalist.
Unfortunately, the match is somewhat limited.
Venetian Rewards Diamond will be matched to World of Hyatt Explorist.
Venetian Rewards Chairman will be matched to World of Hyatt Globalist.
Keep in mind that Venetian Diamond is the top published tier. Venetian Chairman is invite only (like MGM Noir). If any MilesTalkers are actually Chairman level, I’d love to meet you 😉
Now, there’s definitely a chance somebody here is Venetian Diamond, although even when Venetian was status matching, you’d have needed a higher tier than a standard Merry Go Round status to get to Diamond. If you did, though, you could have matched that Venetian Diamond to Pechanga Red and then matched that back to Venetian Diamond…. so I’m saying there is a chance 😉
But keep in mind that Pechanga is currently tier matching – through the end of the year. You may have a high status at another SoCal casino that matches to Pechanga Red which would match to Venetian Diamond and on to Hyatt Explorist.
What is awesome, though, is that when a Venetian Rewards Member receives elite status in the World of Hyatt program, their World of Hyatt status will remain valid for the remainder of the calendar year in which they were awarded World of Hyatt status, plus fourteen months.
That’s awesome – again, if that’s you…
Now about the Merry Go Round component? Well, there really isn’t one at the moment because it’s a one way match. Venetian to Hyatt but not Hyatt to Venetian.
Linking – Per the Venetian website:
Your Venetian Rewards account can be linked with your World of Hyatt account by first visiting https://www.venetianlasvegas.com/rewards/login, and logging in to your Venetian Rewards account.
navigate to the “Profile” tab, then the “World of Hyatt Rewards” section. From there, select the “Link My
Account” button next to the World of Hyatt logo and follow the instructions to connect your World of
Hyatt account with your Venetian Rewards account.
Transfer Venetian Rewards Points to World of Hyatt
You can now also transfer Venetian Rewards points to Hyatt at a 2:1 ratio. I believe points are worth a penny so this will only make sense for those that maximize value with World of Hyatt and have at least 5,000 Venetian points to move since that is the minimum. I believe that is $50 worth of points. I personally tend to get over 2 cents per Hyatt point in value and if I actually get over 5,000 points on my next two trips to Venetian, I will take advantage of this.
I still think it is a shame that the Venetian partnership with World of Hyatt isn’t deeper (Globalists still pay resort fees, as do award stays, and there really aren’t any real Globalist benefits) but this is a smart, albeit limited, move.
