Registration is now live for the July-September 2022 period for your Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cards.
This is for both the legacy Chase Freedom and the new Freedom Flex.
If you are in a cash crunch, you should avoid travel rewards credit cards until you are caught up. Here are our favorite credit cards for Intro 0% APR offers and for balance transfer offers
As a refresher, the old Chase Freedom and the new Freedom Flex allow you to earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points on whatever the chosen categories are for that 3 month period. The limit is $1,500 in spend for the quarter per card, for a total of 7,500 Ultimate Rewards points on the spend.

Chase Freedom Family 3rd Quarter (2022) 5X Bonus Categories
You can now register for the 3rd quarter on your Chase Freedom or Freedom Flex. Both Freedom Flex (including converted Freedom Flex cards) and the original Freedom cards will have access to these bonus categories which are:
- Gas Stations
- Rental Car Agencies
- Movie Theaters
- Select Live Entertainment
With the current prices of gas, I have a feeling it won’t be too hard to max out on that alone. I wouldn’t use the Freedom on a car rental, personally, since it has secondary insurance and I only use credit cards with primary car rental coverage, like a Chase Sapphire Preferred.
I also recently wrote an article on the best credit cards for gas.
Activation Deadline
You must activate by September 14, 2022.
