A Few Notes from Dave:
- If you have gotten an AA Status Pass in the last 24 months, you won’t be eligible. Otherwise, I assume Globalist gets Platinum Pro and I’m not sure what else matches where. I tried to clarify but only got this: “Eligible World of Hyatt Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist members need to meet qualifying activities to receive up to AAdvantage Executive Platinum® status. Those who qualify will receive an email from American Airlines within the next few weeks to register by September 27, 2025.”
- On the Hyatt side, and this is pretty sweet, you only need to stay 20 nights at Hyatt within 90 days to get top tier Globalist all the way through February 2027. That’s a heck of a deal especially since award nights count and it would make sense to “invest” in some extra nights if you need them given the value proposition of Globalist (in my opinion, the only real top tier status left that really delivers).

World of Hyatt Trial Tier Offer:
Starting today, eligible AAdvantage® status members who have linked their World of Hyatt and AAdvantage® accounts can register and enjoy the benefits of World of Hyatt Explorist status for 90 days with the option of completing qualifying activity to keep status through February 2027. Here’s how it works:
- Eligible AAdvantage Gold®, AAdvantage Platinum®, AAdvantage Platinum Pro® and AAdvantage Executive Platinum® members can register by October 31, 2025, to immediately start enjoying trial Explorist status for 90 days following registration.
- AAdvantage Gold®, AAdvantage Platinum®, AAdvantage Platinum Pro® and AAdvantage Executive Platinum® members must stay 10 Tier-Qualifying Nights within 90 days of registration to keep Explorist status or stay 20 Tier-Qualifying Nights within 90 days of registration to earn Globalist status. If awarded, status will last through February 28, 2027.
Qualifying activity is earned when a World of Hyatt member books an eligible rate or award night through Hyatt channels. Once earned, members can enjoy elite benefits like a dedicated check-in area, late checkout upon request, and room upgrades as well as club lounge access or complimentary breakfast for Globalist members.

World of Hyatt Trial Tier Offer Terms
To qualify for this offer, you must be an AAdvantage® Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro, and Executive Platinum member who has already successfully linked your AAdvantage® account to your World of Hyatt® account (“Eligible Member”). To participate in this offer, Eligible Members must register between August 6 and October 31, 2025, through the dedicated offer registration page provided by Hyatt.
Upon registration, the Eligible Member will receive a trial upgrade to Explorist status for 90 days (“Explorist Trial Period”). The trial will provide the member with the benefits of Explorist status, as set forth in the World of Hyatt program terms, as part of the trial. To maintain Explorist status through February 2027, the member must complete ten (10) Tier-Qualifying Nights (as defined in the World of Hyatt program terms) at any participating Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide, participating Mr & Mrs Smith hotels and resorts, or eligible stays at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas that are booked through Hyatt channels. If member completes at least twenty (20) Tier-Qualifying Nights at any participating Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide, and participating Mr & Mrs Smith hotels and resorts, member will receive Globalist status through February 2027.
Only Tier-Qualifying Nights completed by the member during the member’s Trial Explorist Period will count toward this offer. Stays completed by the member prior to the start of their Trial Explorist Period will not count towards this offer (even if any night stayed otherwise qualifies as a Tier-Qualifying Night). Further, in order for Tier-Qualifying Nights completed during the member’s Explorist Trial Period to count toward this offer, the member must check out of their reservation during their Explorist Trial Period. If member checks into a reservation during their Explorist Period but does not check out until after the Explorist Trial Period has ended, no nights stayed as part of that reservation will count toward this offer. Explorist Trial Period begins at registration and may not be extended. World of Hyatt Credit Card night credits, promotions that offers additional Tier-Qualifying Nights, or any Tier-Qualifying Nights earned from any method other than a stay during the Explorist Trial Period do not qualify as Tier-Qualifying Nights.
If the member earns Explorist or Globalist status through February 2027 by completing the criteria above, their new status will be applied within 7 business days of checkout of the stay during which they complete the applicable requirements.
