Hyatt just put out a press release talking about an expansion of the Chase / World of Hyatt partnership. You can read it here.
There are just three things I found incredibly interesting.
In this article
New Hyatt Credit Card Seems to be Incoming
The relevant part of the release is this:
“Hyatt plans to expand its card portfolio as Hyatt and Chase continue to grow their relationship, building on the success of its current co-branded credit cards – the World of Hyatt Credit Card and the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card. The World of Hyatt credit card portfolio has experienced incredible growth with over 30% increase in card spend and over 25% increase in total cardmembers over the last two years.”
I suppose this is likely a luxury version of one or both of the cards? We have heard that rumor before. I won’t say I’d jump on any premium offering, but I sure would happily pay a higher annual fee if I earned more elite nights (annually or on spend) and if it came with a Cat 1-8 (or 1-7) annual free night, among other things.
Hyatt Status Coming in 2026 for Sapphire Reserve
“World of Hyatt Explorist status will be added as a benefit for top spending Chase Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardmembers beginning in the middle of 2026.”
I presume this will mean for cardholders that spend $75,000 plus in a calendar year since you already get IHG Diamond status for that spend and they say “top spending cardmembers.” It’s definitely nice, but it’s not Globalist….
More Hyatt / The Edit
“Hyatt will also continue to increase the number of luxury and premium brands, such as Park Hyatt and Alila, participating in The Edit by Chase Travel.”
Excellent. I like staying at Hyatts!
