marriott uber partnership

Back in “the day,” SPG and Uber had a partnership where you’d earn in both programs for spend with either one. This ended in October of 2017.

Now, Marriott (which acquired SPG) is launching a similar – but different – program.

Head to this page for instructions on linking your accounts. Once linked, you’ll earn Marriott Bonvoy for your Uber spend as follows:

The notable exclusion here is standard Uber rides with UberX. Which is a huge bummer.

However, I have been spending with Uber Eats month due to the new tie up on the Amex Gold card, so this will be bonus points on each order there. And while I generally use Lyft for rideshares (due to the 15% Lyft Pink discount and 10X Ultimate Rewards on my Chase Sapphire Reserve), I really always pick whichever costs less, and once in a while that’s Uber – though almost always an (excluded from this promo) UberX.

Extra bonus: Marriott Bonvoy members can earn 2,000 bonus points until May 31st, 2021. Simply link your accounts and complete a qualifying Uber Eats order or Uber ride to earn your bonus.

Oddly, there’s no Uber points earned for stays at Marriott hotel, so this seems to be a one way street…
