At this point, you’ve either been told to stay home by your state government, or you should be soon.  I’ve discussed at length how COVID-19 isn’t a cold and this isn’t a drill.

So assuming you are home, and if you’re anything like me, the lack of social interaction is tough.

That’s why, on the urging of a MilesTalk group member, I’m going to give this a try.

In this article

Topics:

  • Dealing with COVID-19’s effect on your travel plans
  • Handling flights/hotel bookings
  • When will it get back to normal? (Hint: I don’t know)
  • Anything else on anyone’s mind that has some tangent to travel.
  • NOT ALLOWED: Political Discourse (I’ll turn off your mic 😉 )

How will it work?

Using Zoom videoconferencing software, I’m going to host a MilesTalk LIVE event tomorrow night (Sunday March 22, 2020) at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.  It will go for exactly 40 minutes so please be on time :).

Everyone will be on video chat. This is an in person version of the MilesTalk group that I should have thought about trying long ago. So please be dressed and presentable 😉

It won’t be me just talking at you. This is meant to be for anyone that wants to ask a question or talk about anything travel related to have a group to socialize with. I’ll of course answer any questions the best I can and MilesTalk group moderators Jenny, Sarah, and Giancarlo will be on as well. Put a face with that MilesTalker’s name!

It’s a virtual Happy Hour.

It’s free, but we have a software limit on the number of participants, so you’ll need to register here (and you should do it right away, since I expect this to fill up quickly).  Registrations will be automatically closed once we reach capacity.

I’ll email everyone registered before the event with the link.

Let’s see how this goes…. if it works well, perhaps there will be more to come….
