rakuten deals

Cash back site Rakuten (which allows you to earn more valuable American Express Membership Rewards in lieu of the cash) has a special sale on today with deals of up to 20% back. If you don’t already have a Rakuten account and sign up today, you’ll get $40 (or 4,000 Amex Membership Rewards points) when you sign up and spend $40 through any of their linked stores within 90 days.

If your account is set to earn Membership Rewards (think of Rakuten like a huge Amex shopping portal) you get the 20% back in Amex points ($20 = 2,000 points, for example).

If you have a car rental coming up, 20% off at Sixt is pretty massive.

And if you stay at Best Western, that’s another huge 20% deal. Trip Advisor is offering 15% back on bookings made via their site (as well as their
experiences). Viator similarly has 15% off tours.

For those with an Amex Platinum card, today is a good day to use your $50 credit as you’ll also get 15% back from Rakuten. And if you have a Business Platinum Card, today’s a good day to use your bi-annual $200 credit at Dell where you’ll also get 15% back. (Yes, these stack!)

There are tons of other deals on everything from luggage to non-travel related deals, so today is also worth a look even if you aren’t booking travel. Just make sure if you don’t have an account yet, that you use my referral link to get your free $40 when you spend $40 within 90 days.
