Ocean Resort Atlantic City

I loved the REVEL Casino when it existed at the far end of the Atlantic City boardwalk. It was smoke-free and brand new and on the beach.

But gamblers didn’t like that it didn’t really cater to them. The owners wanted a resort experience and didn’t do enough to incentivize gamblers to, well, gamble. It had other issues which are neither here nor there, but it folded several years ago leaving the Borgata as the only truly “nice” casino hotel in AC.

So I’m excited to see that it will be back this June as the Ocean Resort Casino. (I just hope it’s nicer than its website.)

But more exciting is that it will be marketed under the Hyatt Unbound brand.

You will be able to both earn and redeem Hyatt points there. The category level isn’t announced yet, but given that AC is only really hopping around 34 days of the year, I suspect it will fall at around 12,000 or 15,000 World Of Hyatt points per night.

They’ve also said there won’t be a 2-night weekend stay requirement as REVEL often had, making the points redemption perfect for a Saturday night trip from NYC or Philly.

While it’s set to open for business June 28th, 2018, it’s not yet listed on Hyatt.com.
