Lots went on today while Facebook and Instagram were down. Let’s recap so you don’t miss out….

American Express Reverses Language on Coins and Bullion

Earlier in the year, Amex announced that coin and bullion purchases (like the US Mint coin deals we do every now and then) would be treated as cash advances.  Thus, we recommended using anything but Amex on these deals.

Today, Travel with Grant noticed new language in his statements reversing course. Seems fine to use coin purchases to meet minimum spend on Amex cards again.

USTA Daily Deals – First Deals Announced

I mentioned last week that the US Travel Association’s Daily Deals are coming back Oct 7th. Now we know the first 3 weeks of deals.

You can see them here.

The best deal is (to me) clearly the 80,000 Hyatt points for $960 (1.2 cpp) – however there are only 8 packages. So… good luck! Other packages include Hilton, Choice, Wyndham, and Accor – but nothing screams AMAZING to me. How about you?

Kabbage: 1.1% Interest on Business Savings + $300

If you have a business, it’d be nice to have an account that earns interest. Kabbage, owned by American Express but operating as a separate entity entirely, offers 1.1% APY and has a $300 new account bonus, though it requires debit card payments to receive the bonus. HT: DoC

Earn 10X Total Marriott Bonvoy Points Using PayPal (Bonvoy Amex and Brilliant)

Some Amex cardholders (holding the Bonvoy Amex or the Bonvoy Brilliant are being offered 10X total Bonvoy points (that’s 8 bonus) when spending with PayPal up to 50,000 bonus points. Unfortunately it seems not everyone (like me!) is targeted. Check the Amex Offers part of your account.

I have a few more items from today, but I plan to write full posts for those.

Quick reminder that this CSP offer below ends on Weds….

Chase Sapphire PreferredChase Sapphire Preferred® Card Earn 60,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points (worth up to $750 or more!) when you spend $4,000 in 3 months. How to apply for this offer.
