Rove Adds Copa Airlines ConnectMiles as Transfer Partner

The list of Rove’s transfer partners just keeps growing, but I remain most impressed by those they have snagged that nobody (or almost nobody) else has. Previously they got Lufthansa, which no US bank transfers to (Marriott is your only other option) and now they have added Copa Airlines’ ConectMiles (also only a Marriott transfer partner).

That makes their full transfer partner list:

  • Aeromexico Rewards

  • Air Canada Aeroplan

  • Air France-KLM Flying Blue

  • Air India Maharaja Club

  • ALL Accor

  • Cathay Pacific Asia Miles

  • Copa Airlines ConnectMiles
  • Etihad Guest

  • Finnair Plus

  • Frontier Miles

  • Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club

  • Japan Airlines Mileage Bank

  • Miles & More

  • Qantas Frequent Flyer

  • Qatar Airways Privilege Club

  • SAS EuroBonus

  • Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus

  • Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles

  • Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles

  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

  • Virgin Red

With a Transfer Bonus…

Transfers submitted by September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST will receive a 40% bonus as part of the launch promotion.

Copa ConnectMiles Sweet Spots

I’m getting the news just ahead of the embargo lift, so I haven’t had time yet to dig into this program myself. Until then, Rove was prescient enough to provide a list of sweet spots. Remember Copa is a Star Alliance member.

● U.S. to Dubai in business class from 80,000 miles (no surcharges even when flying Emirates): 57.2k Rove Miles with 40% bonus

● San Francisco to New York in United Polaris from 25,000 miles (saver-level awards; standard awards at 55,000 miles): 17.9k Rove Miles with transfer bonus (or 39.3k for standard awards)

● U.S. to Central America, Caribbean, and South America from 15,000 miles in economy: 10.8k Rove Miles with transfer bonus

● Lie-flat intra-South America business class for 40,000 miles: 28.6k Rove Miles with transfer bonus

● U.S. to Europe in business class from 90,000 miles: 65k Rove Miles with transfer bonus

● Enhanced access to United Airlines award space

● No surcharges on award flights, including Lufthansa, Swiss, ANA, and Emirates

It’s those last two I’m most interested in digging in on. Indeed, searches for Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines to Europe come in at 90,000 Copa miles + just $5.60 (the mandatory US tax).

Those are all programs with hefty surcharges, so that’s a big deal. I want to see what kind of partner award availability Emirates gives them while the rest should match all Star Alliance partners (except United, for which they have expanded availability).

And speaking of United:

Copa is showing transcontinental Polaris routes on United for 55,000 Copa miles when United itself wants 108,000 miles for cardmembers and 120,000 for others. So, yeah, wow.

Even on Copa itself, you probably would have previously used United. Panama to Santiago (PTY –> SCL) would run you 90,000 United miles in b business. It’s just 40,000 Copa miles.

Glad I’ve been banking my Rove miles!!

Dave Grossman
I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! Several years ago, I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at the South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born. Since then, I've written my book, MilesTalk: Live Your Wildest Travel Dreams Using Miles and Points (2nd Edition) - (author profile), give seminars on miles and points all over the world, and occasionally write for publications such as Frommer's and Forbes Advisor.
