Southwest Companion Pass Season

A popular Chase Southwest credit card offer from last year is back, though it ends on March 14th, 2022.

Southwest Companion Pass with One Credit Card Bonus

There is an offer on now for all personal Southwest credit cards. The offer applies to all three cards.

The applicable cards are:

The new bonus offer is:

  • Get the Southwest Companion Pass through February 2023 + 30,000 points when you spend $5,000 within 3 months.

Comparing to Other Southwest Credit Card Offers

The last offer on the personal cards was for 40,000 points when you spend $3,000 within 3 months.

Now, if you can combine with a Southwest Business card, like the Southwest Performance Business Credit Card which offers 80,000 bonus points for $5,000 spent in 3 months, the older 40k offer – when combined with a Performance Business Card – was instant Companion Pass.

However, if you aren’t eligible for business credit cards and Companion Pass was out of reach before, definitely grab this deal and enjoy your one full year of Companion Pass!

If you DO qualify for the Southwest Performance Business Credit Card, though, this offer would still get you almost all the way there. The Performance nets you 85,000 after spend is met (including points earned on the spend) and this new offer would still be 33,000 when spend is met, giving you 118,000 of the 125,000 you need.

If that would be hard for you to meet, then you may want to wait a month or so until this offer changes again. You know that I’ll keep you posted on that!

Each bump in annual fee gets you a bit more in the form of Rapid Rewards points at renewal and credits, but if you are purely gunning for Companion Pass, the $69 annual fee Southwest Rewards Plus Credit Card will do just fine.
