For a couple of months now, I’ve been explaining why it’s been the perfect time to get both a business and a personal version of the Southwest credit card. That and just a tiny bit of spend would give you the Companion Pass for two full years.

But many of you wrote in “But I don’t have a business!” and true, if you don’t have at least a side hustle to qualify for a business card, then you were out of luck.

Until now:

Today, Chase is relaunching the bonus offers on the personal cards such that you’ll earn Companion Pass for the remainder of 2019 simply by meeting your minimum spend.

The catch? Well, whereas the business + personal card strategy would get you the Companion Pass for two full years, this offer will only get it for 2019. Still, if you weren’t going to be able to use the business card strategy, this is pretty great!

Your three options:

Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card

(Earn the Companion Pass and 30,000 points after spending $4,000 within the first 3 months., $69 annual fee, earns 3,000 rewards points at each anniversary)

Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card

Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card

(Earn the Companion Pass and 30,000 points after spending $4,000 within the first 3 months., $99 annual fee, earns 6,000 rewards points at each anniversary)

Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card

Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card

(Earn the Companion Pass for the remainder of 2019 and 30,000 points after spending $4,000 within the first 3 months, $149 annual fee7,500 bonus points after your Cardmember anniversary, $75 Southwest travel credit each year, 4 upgraded boardings per year when available.)

Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card

Offers End February 11th.

I do think it is worth mentioning that this deal is only suited for someone who would use the Companion Pass several times and get more value out of that then pure points. If you just wanted Southwest points, you would do far better getting a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Sapphire Reserve card which would get you 50,000 transferable points, or a Chase Ink Business Preferred which would get you 80,000 transferable points.

Note: MilesTalk may earn a commission if you use the links above to apply for a card. The offers above are the best available offers we know of at this time. Thanks for your support.
