First, we learned that the Citi Premier’s 80,000 point bonus offer is ending quite soon…

And now, the Chase Freedom Flex and Freedom Unlimited bonus offers that include 5X on groceries for a year (on top of 20,000 bonus points for $500 in spend in 3 months) are ending as well.

If you are in a cash crunch, you should avoid travel rewards credit cards until you are caught up. Here are our favorite credit cards for Intro 0% APR offers and for balance transfer offers

For many months now, the bonus offers on both the Chase Freedom Flex and the Chase Freedom Unlimited (<– that’s a link to a guide breaking down the differences between the cards) have included a bonus on top of the bonus.

In addition to 20,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points for spending just $500 within 3 months, both cards have come with 5X Ultimate Rewards points on Groceries for one year. This has been a huge selling point, with so many of us cooking at home more during the pandemic. (Not to mention, grocery stores sell gift cards…)

We now know that January 12th, 2022 will be the last date that you can apply for either card and receive the 5X on groceries for a year component of the bonus offer.

If you’ve been eyeing the offer but perhaps were waiting due to 5/24 considerations, etc., it’s time to make a plan…

New to all of this? My “introduction to miles and points” book, MilesTalk: Live Your Wildest Travel Dreams Using Miles and Points is available on Amazon and at major booksellers.

I got "in the game" in 2003 and since then I've collected literally millions and millions of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. I've flown around the world in first class seats that would cost $29,000 using frequent flyer miles and a few bucks in tax. And I've stayed in some of the finest hotels - all for free! A few years ago I realized many of my friends actually thought I was paying for these!! So I started sharing my tips. It's long been a passion, but when I hosted a session on Miles and Points at the South by Southwest festival, my love of the game intensified and this blog was born.
