hilton double triple points promo

This is a pretty strong move by Hilton. I know that I, for one, have been getting terrible promo offers from my mainstay Marriott  as a Titanium Elite this year. No double elite nights, just a short period of double points and some “get 1,500 for 2 nights” type deals. Yawn.

Up To Triple Hilton Honors Points on All Stays Through Jan 5th, 2020

I just opened a Hilton Aspire credit card which gives me Hilton’s top tier Diamond Elite status, and that apparently now means I will get TRIPLE points on all Hilton stays until January 5th, 2020.

Even if you don’t have a Hilton credit card, like the no fee Hilton Honors Card from American Express, the Hilton Honors Surpass Card ($95 annual fee), or the Hilton Honors American Express Business Card ($95 annual fee), you’ll get 2x bonus points on all stays until January 5th.

This is a “set it and forget it” no brainer. Register here and you’ll be all set in case you have a stay, even if you forget about this promo before then.

2X for all, 3X with a Hilton-branded Credit Card

And maybe it’s a bit of a push to get one of the Amex credit cards now, while the welcome offers are also spectacular. The Hilton Honors Surpass Card, for instance, is giving 130,000 extra Hilton Honors points and a free weekend night when you spend $4,000 in your first 3 months. (Note: this elevated offer with the free weekend night expires today, August 28, 2019)

I’m personally using the free night I’m getting with the Hilton Aspire credit card for a free night at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives worth 120,00 points, though if you don’t have a trip coming up at that one hotel, the certificate is reasonably worth up to 95,000 points on top of the welcome offer of 130,000 points.

Credit card or not, just don’t forget to register for the bonus offer.

Side note: I’m also pretty happy for William Sanders, aka Starwood Lurker on FlyerTalk, who is now the official Hilton rep on Flyertalk and will certainly be able to assist should you have any issues with Hilton Honors going forward. He’s been an invaluable resource to thousands (probably tens of thousands) over the years. I’ve shared a few meals with William over the years and wish him all the luck in the world with his new employer. An all around good guy.
