Apparently there is, right now, a ton of availability to Europe from the US on Austrian Airlines in all classes.

If this interests you, go to United.com to book immediately – as I suspect this isn’t intentional. You can always cancel within 24 hours while you confirm you can take the flight.

It will cost 70k each way in business class on United, but there will be very little in taxes and fees (under $100 round trip).

I tried a sample booking and it went all the way through to payment. I assume it would have ticketed.

This is even more exciting if you travel in 2s or 3s or 4s as many flights have up to 8 seats available in Business Class.

It is showing availability through late next summer.

  1. I booked this from EWR to VIE direct RT for April next year for 140K. Austrian is a very good airline,
I cannot wait to check out their business class!!!

  2. I’m jealous, Chris! Would love to try them out. I actually have a United award I need to cancel and could pay the change fee (instead of redeposit) to do this IF I had any clue of a good time next year to actually take the trip!! Let us know how it is!

    • Dave, my feelings about Europe are to always go in the shoulder or low season. Millions of tourists flock in the summer, the prices on everything are higher, more crowds, many places in Europe have less than effective AC, etc. So I booked late April. Alternatives are middle September to early November. Winter travel to me is either Christmas markets or skiing. I will certainly give you a review of the aircraft. The have a pretty good reputation, so, why not!
