The Chase Sapphire and Ink lines of credit cards get all the buzz, but a new bonus offer out today on the Chase Freedom Unlimited® shines some light onto a card that should already be in your wallet. Yet if it’s not (or even if it once was) you may want to consider picking it up during this Best Ever Offer period.
That offer?
Earn a $300 Bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.
While the Sapphire cards now have a restriction that you can only get each once per lifetime (and you can’t even get the Sapphire Preferred® if you already have or had the Sapphire Reserve®) and the Ink cards now allow just one lifetime bonus per Ultimate Rewards-earning cards with an annual fee plus one combined on the Ink Cash® / Ink Unlimited®, there are stubbornly few bonuses remaining.
The restriction on the Chase Freedom Unlimited®? You are eligible to receive this bonus as long as you don’t currently hold this exact card and have not received a bonus on this exact card in the past 24 months. Compared to other Ultimate Rewards® cards, this is a pretty good option these days – and consider that the card has no annual fee!
So, one set of reasons to pick up this card during this limited time Best Ever offer period that ends by 9:00 AM EST on January 15, 2026 is that this bonus is awarded as 30,000 Ultimate Rewards Points, transferrable if you also hold a Sapphire Preferred®, Sapphire Reserve®, Ink Business Preferred®, or Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ – and you may actually be eligible to receive the bonus!
But the bonus is really icing on the cake when you consider that this card should be in your wallet anyway as a key part of the Chase trifecta which includes a Sapphire card (Preferred or Reserve) as well as the Freedom Unlimited® and Freedom Flex℠. The Freedom Flex is there simply for it’s quarterly rotating 5X categories.
The Chase Freedom Unlimited® is both your “catch-all” card if you want to stick to Ultimate Rewards as it earns 1.5X on all eligible spend not already in a bonus category as well as 3X on dining (useful if your anchor card is a Sapphire Preferred only earning 2X on dining) and 3X on drugstores.
Sure, you may prefer a card that earns 2X on everything like a Venture X, but a Chase Trifecta reigns if you want Chase points – as many do simply for transfers to World of Hyatt.
Long story short? If you don’t have the card right now and haven’t had it in the past 24 months, you may want to consider it while you can Earn a $300 Bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.
