Etihad A380’s and A350’s, including the First Class Apartments, Seem Safe For Now…
Some good news is coming out from Executive Traveller, an Aussie publication which quotes Etihad brass as saying that it has no plans to ditch the A380s (at least not entirely) and still plans to take delivery of their 20 previously ordered A350-1000’s. This indicates they expect a rebound in travel such that the unit economics of the super-jumbo A380’s will make sense again.
The A380’s remain grounded for now
There aren’t any in the sky today, nor will there be tomorrow. But it seems that they will fly again, presumably still dependent on global travel continuing to pick up. Everyone is making their best guesses with regards to planning and all bets could be off if we have a large 2nd wave of the Coronavirus.
For now, though, I’m content to know there’s a good chance I’ll once again be able to fly the Etihad First Class Apartment…
