The Amex 25% transfer bonus to Air France ended Nov 30th, but two new transfer bonuses have taken its place.

Virgin Atlantic (30% Transfer Bonus)

First up is Virgin Atlantic with a 30% transfer bonus through Dec 31st (11:59pm MT).

Amex frequently has transfer bonuses of 30% to Virgin Atlantic, which can make a good deal even better. The best use of Virgin Atlantic points is a Round trip to Japan on ANA in Business or First Class. Round trip in First is just 110,000 – 120,000 miles, which is absolutely fantastic for more than 24 hours in ANA First Class.

You used to be able to get a GREAT deal using Virgin Atlantic to book Delta but that is now dead as a doornail, except to/from the UK.

Using new partners KLM or Air France to Europe can still be a decent deal, for example New York to Amsterdam on KLM in Business Class for 48,500 Virgin points + $296 in tax. Or New York to Paris for 48,500 points + $315.

You can also mix awards on Virgin + Delta/KLM/Air France.

This appears to be offered to everyone.

I also want to note that Virgin Red (part of Virgin Points) is set to expand redemption opportunities – including the famous Necker Island.

Singapore KrisFlyer (20% Transfer Bonus)

While targeted, it seems to be available to most/all now (it was originally very targeted) If eligible, the primary use of this would be to book something on Singapore metal in a premium cabin since those aren’t available to partners.

Update Dec 12th: Wide reports of availability on JFK-FRA-SIN for next summer (note that JFK all the way to SIN would not be a designated COVID flight and therefore subject to quarantine rules as of now).

I would use this to fly JFK-FRA-JFK and *hope* for new Suites by next summer.

But take note that KrisFlyer miles hard expire in 3 years (cannot be extended), so it’s a very poor speculative transfer. Their rates on anything besides their own flights are uncompetitive.
