Per a report by Gary Leff at View from the Wing, Bilt will wind down their partnership (ability to transfer Bilt Rewards points to American Airlines AAdvantage) sometime in June.
While various blogs state this isn’t a big deal, I kind of think it is. No other program transfers to AA. Citi *briefly* allowed transfers from ThankYou to AA during COVID. And technically you can transfer Marriott Bonvoy over but that will generally be a poor use of Bonvoy points vs a 5 night award stay.
I think it’s likely true that people haven’t utilized AA as much as some of their other partners simply because of all the various Rent Day transfers bonuses to the likes of Air France and Virgin for as much as a 150% bonus.
But if you collect AA miles and have already opened all the AA credit cards you can for the next 4 years, you make want to transfer some while you can.
Hopefully Bilt will announce a new partner very soon.

It’s a nothing burger. I just got 7400 AA miles/$50 Amex credit with the Motley Fool stack, have the AA MileUp card, and Bilt Gold elite status. I’d already emptied my Bilt account with the 100% bonus to Flying Blue, 150% to Virgin, and 150% to Aeroplan, so losing AA doesn’t matter. I can generate AA miles at a MUCH lower opportunity cost using SimplyMiles, AAdvantage Shopping, and buying groceries (or MS’ing gift cards at XYZ grocery)
