American Airlines to Require Passenger Masks / Face Coverings
American Airlines has now joined in, stating in a news release today that passengers will be required to wear face coverings from May 11th.
Previously, American was only going to mandate masks for flight attendants from tomorrow, May 1st.
Delta to Require Passenger Masks / Face Coverings
Delta has joined JetBlue and Delta in requiring passenger face coverings.
Delta’s policy will begin on Monday May 4th.
United Joins the Party
After this was originally posted, United has now stated masks will be mandatory for customers from May 4.
Other Airlines to Follow?
Frontier Airlines has also joined in and will require masks from May 8th.
I think that as we try to restart domestic travel in a safe way, especially given evidence that some planes have already been flying full due to heavily reduced schedules, we’ll see all of the airlines adopt a similar policy.
My guess is that Alaska will have a policy in place by tomorrow…
How long these policies will last are anyone’s guess, but I think it will be for a while.
Do you mind wearing a mask when flying?
