JetBlue Requiring Passengers Wear Masks from May 4th, 2020

Starting May 4th, JetBlue will require all passengers boarding their flights to wear masks. This is the first airline in the US that I am aware of that is mandating face coverings as a requirement for travel, but I’m pleased that they are taking the spread of COVID-19 in confined spaces seriously.

A few days ago, there was an American Airlines flight which circulated social media for being jammed packed and without most passengers wearing masks, creating a major safety risk if even one passenger was a coronavirus passenger.

It’s not clear for how long JetBlue expects to mandate this for, but I feel bad for the flight attendants that may have to deal with people that disagree with the policy.

I’m also starting to think it’s time to get some personalized masks made… this isn’t going away any time soon.
