It’s not you, it’s Amex.
If you’ve tried transferring your American Express Membership Rewards to Air Canada’s Aeroplan program in the last few days, you’ve gotten this message:
So even by phone, you’re out of luck at the moment.
There’s nothing to be alarmed about – unless you needed to actually make a transfer in the short term. The relationship is in tact, but the link to transfer is having technical issues.
The issue was first identified by Amex on September 12th and they are still working to resolve it. No timeframe could be given for restoration and there is no workaround.
But at least you know it’s not just your account and they are well aware of the issue.
