Changes to the Dell Credit on the The Business Platinum Card® from American Express

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express has long had a Dell credit worth up to $400 annually – $200 from January to June and $200 from July to December (Enrollment required, Terms apply).

This is changing in a major way.

While you still get the $200 to use before June 30th, 2025, the benefit in the back half of the year will reflect the new card benefit which is as follows:

Effective July 1, 2025, enrolled Business Platinum Card Members can get up to $150 in statement credits annually on U.S. purchases made directly with Dell and an additional $1,000 statement credit after they spend $5,000 or those purchases from July 1-Dec 31, 2025 (and for each calendar year after), totaling up to $1,150 in Dell statement credits.

So to clarify this, if you have the The Business Platinum Card® now (or got it before June 30th), you would get a total of up to $350 in statement credits ($200 before June and $150 more July-Dec).

You can ALSO get a $1,000 statement credit if you spend $5,000 between July 1 and Dec 31, 2025.

Starting in 2026, you will get a statement credit for up to $150 *annually* (so a cut to the benefit of a max of $400 annually to a max of $150 annually) + the offer for a $1,000 statement credit when you spend $5,000 in a calendar year.

If you were taking full advantage of this benefit, this is surely disappointing as it’s a loss of $250 in credits. Hopefully something is coming down the pike to replace that value but I have not heard of anything. That said, it’s always been hard for me to find things to buy from Dell’s limited inventory on a long term bi-annual basis.

Changes to the Adobe Credit on the The Business Platinum Card® from American Express

The current Adobe benefit is:

Valid through June 30, 2025, enrolled Business Platinum Card Members can earn up to $150 in statement credits on select Adobe purchases on the Business Platinum Card.

Starting July 1st, 2025 and for subsequent calendar years:

Enrolled Business Platinum Card Members can get a $250 statement credit after they spend $600 or more on U.S. purchases made directly with Adobe from July 1-Dec 31, 2025 (and for each calendar year after). (Enrollment required, Terms apply).

As opposed to the Dell benefit, this one is generally an improvement in the sense that you will get $100 more in value if you max out the benefit, and you are no longer limited in what you can buy – but you do have to cross that $600 spend threshold which means you do need to spend at least $350 ($600 minus the $250 credit) to get the $250 credit.

Overall, I view these both as net negatives, however depending on your individual use cases, you may not!

Note: It’s been pointed out to me that we did get an extra $200 ($50 / quarter) in Hilton credits starting last year on this card and so if you are utilizing that, you are still ahead vs before both changes…
