As much as us die hards love airline and hotel transfer partners (and they are, indeed, generally the most lucrative way to redeem transferable points like Bilt’s), many really prefer easy redemption via a portal.
Today, Bilt – the company that lets you pay rent by credit card to any landlord for free and also earn transferable points in the process – is launching that exact functionality, powered by Expedia, which will provide Bilt members the ability to book travel with points valued at 1.25 cents per points (exactly the same as redeeming points on a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Chase Ink Business Preferred® via the Chase travel portal.
Bilt’s Official Press Release follows with all the details:
We are excited to announce the Bilt Rewards Travel Portal powered by Expedia will launch on June 30th. Bilt Rewards members can earn and redeem Bilt Points when booking 500+ airlines, 700K+ properties, 120+ car rental companies, and $220K+ popular activities for your next adventure.
Redeem
All Bilt Points redeemed through the portal will be worth 1.25 cents towards the travel cost. That means 10,000 Bilt Points = $125 when redeemed through the portal. You can use a mix of points and cash to cover the cost of a trip and there is no minimum number of points you must redeem.
Earn
Bilt Members earn points on any purchases made through the Bilt Travel Portal. This includes purchases paid fully with any credit/debit card as well as purchases paid with points and a card. On points+cash bookings, you will earn points on the portion paid with a card.
Bilt Mastercard Cardholders will earn 2X points on all Bilt Travel Portal purchases when paying with their Bilt Mastercard. Cardholders already earn 2X points per dollar spent on direct travel bookings and now have the ability to expand where they earn bonus points on travel by booking through the portal. Bilt Mastercard Cardholders will also be able to use included travel protections like Trip Delay and Trip Cancellation protection on any trips paid for with the Bilt Mastercard.
Bilt Rewards members have two ways to access the Bilt Travel Portal. On desktop, members can visit travel.biltrewards.com
Theme park tickets (for you Disney lovers!) are available in the portal as well.
What’s also cool is that you can toggle between real-time award availability for United, American and Aeroplan in addition to Bilt Travel Portal results – all in the Bilt App. So it’s easy to see which is the better redemption. I like that they make it easy.
