An early spend bonus (how Capital One phrases bonus offers or welcome bonuses) of up to $1,000 in value on a credit card with just a $95 annual fee is pretty exciting. Capital One has offered this once before and it’s back again:
For a limited time, new Capital One Venture cardholders can earn up to $1,000 in travel sign-up bonuses.
You will receive both:
- 75,000 bonus miles (worth $750 in travel) after spending $4,000 within the first 3 months of account opening, and
- A one-time $250 welcome credit (valid for one year) that can be used to book flights, hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars through Capital One Travel – with the opening of a new account. This is applied to your account even before you meet the minimum spend for the 75,000 Bonus Miles
While you can offset travel where 100 points equals a $1 statement credit to offset travel purchases, the best value is of course in transfer partners.

There’s never been a better time to grab a Venture card if you’ve been considering it as my assumption would be that when this Limited Time Offer ends, it will simply revert to the same bonus miles offer without the $250 credit.

Capital One Brings Back JetBlue as a Transfer Partner
For the first time since 2021, you can transfer Capital One miles to JetBlue. It’s great to have as an option, although with JetBlue awards revenue based and the less than 1:1 exchange ratio, it might be tough to find great value. The addition of TAP Portugal as a redemption partner can offer some compelling fixed award pricing deals.
Keep in mind, though, that you can transfer 1:1 from Chase Ultimate Rewards and 1:1 from Citi ThankYou provided you have a Strata Premier or Prestige card, so if you have multiple transferable bank currencies, those would present better value per point.

You would have to look for your Refer a Friend link in your account and open in a browser to double check the offer. Keep in mind that if P2 has ANY Capital One cards open, you will not receive any bonus for the referral.
Oh wow, did not know that thanks. So if they close their cap 1 cards first, then P1 can get a referral bonus?
If they closed every single one, yes. But I’m honestly not sure if there is a waiting period before it’s flushed out of the system.
