Per Chase:
Starting today, “June 15, Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, Ink Plus, Ink Business Preferred, Chase Corporate Flex, and JPMorgan Reserve customers can receive a 20% points bonus when transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan Air Canada through July 31, 2023.”
They also note that “the offer is stackable with the existing 10% bonus for Chase Aeroplan® Credit Card cardmembers when they transfer 50,000 or more Ultimate Rewards points in a single transaction from an eligible Chase credit card to Aeroplan by December 31, 2023. Maximum of 25,000 bonus points per calendar year.”
Transfer bonuses to Air Canada are historically rare, though not as rare since they relaunched the program a couple of years ago. The only better offer (ever) was a 30% bonus in Nov 2022, also from Chase.
My favorite uses of Air Canada are to book Star Alliance airlines that normally have large YQ (junk) fees added to the base fare, which Air Canada won’t pass along to customers.
It’s also great for lap infants (CAD $25 fee flat versus most airlines charging 10% of the base fare which can be hundreds on a business class ticket) and for nearly free stopovers on your journey – at just 5,000 extra miles to include one.
With this promo, you could use just 59,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to book a business class ticket from the Eastern US to Europe, as one example.
