Chase had been offering 3-5X on supermarket purchases through June 30th. That will expire today, although if you have a Chase Freedom, you’ll be able to earn 5X on Whole Foods purchases fro July 1st to September 30th (up to $1,500) if you activate your Q3 bonus categories.
No enrollment is necessary.

Chase Adds 3X to 5X Bonus Points for Gas
Chase isn’t anywhere to be found on our list of best credit cards for gas stations, at least when it comes to personal cards. The IHG Premier offers 2X on gas, but with IHG points worth only 0.5 cents, that’s not a very good return. The Chase Ink Business Cash offers 2X Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
From July 1st to September 30th, you’ll get 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on gas with a Chase Sapphire Reserve and 3X with a Chase Sapphire Preferred.
The maximum you can earn the bonus on is $1,500 total per card.
Earn 5X to 10X Bonus Point for Streaming
Filling your days with Netflix and Spotify?
From July 1st to September 30th, you’ll get 10X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on streaming with a Chase Sapphire Reserve and 3X with a Chase Sapphire Preferred.
Qualifying Streaming Services are listed as: Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Netflix, Sling, Vudu, Fubo TV, Apple Music, SiriusXM, Pandora, Spotify, YouTube TV.
These returns on streaming spend beat any other credit card on our best credit cards for streaming services page, although the Blue Cash Preferred Card wins by a hair against the Chase Sapphire Preferred with 6X on streaming vs. 5X on the Preferred during this promotion.
Instacart: 3X to 5X points Plus $50 off Instacart Express
From July 1st to September 30th, you’ll get 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on Instacart with a Chase Sapphire Reserve and 3X with a Chase Sapphire Preferred - on up to $3,000 in total purchases.
This compares with the best credit cards for groceries, although not exactly since this benefit is now only on Instacart.
You’ll also get $50 towards Instacart Express between July 1st and September 30th. This gives you $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on Instacart orders.
Frustratingly, Instacart won’t tell you the cost of Express before you enter personal info, so I will… it’s $99 a year or $9.99 a month.
If you don’t want a year, for which you’ll still pay $50, I’d suggest you do monthly for 3 months which would be credited back 100%. Just don’t forget to cancel!
Don’t Forget: You can Cash Out at 1.5X (Reserve) or 1.25X (Preferred)
Remember you can “Pay Yourself Back,” essentially getting the same deal your card would normally get in the Chase Travel Portal but on various other categories and after the charge has already posted.
Through September 30th, you can redeem in the same manner for grocery stores, home improvement stores and dining, including restaurants, takeout and eligible delivery services. Instead of using a “portal” to make the purchases, you just pay as you normally would and then go into the Chase website to “pay” for that purchase with points. You will get the same 1.5 cents per point in value with the Reserve and 1.25 cents per point with the Preferred as you get booking travel. The feature is branded “Pay Yourself BackSM“.
