Last last year, Chase was offering a huge 80,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points for $4,000 in spend, a pure boost of 20,000 Ultimate Rewards for the same spend.
It was enormously popular, but not everyone was eligible, especially since not only can’t you currently have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card or a Sapphire Preferred card – nor can you have received a signup bonus on either card in the last 4 years.
But since the Reserve launched about 4.5 years ago, many are becoming eligible now and, unfortunately, the bonus is once again the standard 60,000 UR points for $4,000 in spend.
Today, Chase sweetened the deal, though just a little.
The bonus offer now includes a $50 statement credit at grocery stores, good any time in your first year. You still get the 60,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards for spending $4,000 within 3 months. You don’t have to spend the grocery credit all at once, though you probably will if your grocery trips are anything like mine!
As well, the Sapphire Preferred still earns 2x on up to $1,000 in monthly grocery store spend until April 30, 2021.’
It’s not a mind blowing addition to the Chase Sapphire Preferred, but it’s $50 more than before…
Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card ENDS by NOV 14, 2024: Earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. Plus, get up to $300 in Chase Travel statement credits in the first year of account opening for any purchases made on Chase Travel. How to apply for this offer.
