bilt Walgreens

Bilt maintains that they are far more than the Bilt credit card that we generally talk about here. They want to be a central focal point for you in your neighborhood – i.e. with Bilt Dining.

Through a new partnership with Walgreens, you can now both retroactively credit purchases to your flexible spending account (it will tell you if a purchase was eligible) and you’ll earn bonus points at Walgreens EVEN IF YOU DON’T PAY WITH A BILT CARD.

Wanted to make that very clear. They are embracing card linking just as in their dining program and as long as your card is linked, you’ll get the benefits.

Frankly I suggest using a Chase Freedom Unlimited® or Chase Freedom Flex℠ for 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points on drugstore purchases.

The benefits include, per their press release:

“1) Automatic FSA/HSA Savings: Members can shop at Walgreens using any linked debit or credit card in their Bilt account. Bilt’s innovative system automatically identifies FSA or HSA eligible items and offers a one-click solution to apply benefits. This feature simplifies healthcare shopping by removing the hassle of knowing which items are eligible for FSA or HSA benefits in advance of purchase.

This has been a massive undertaking to make FSA/HSA funds easier to use. Currently $4 billion in FSA funds are lost because of the complexities in knowing what items qualify for these funds and the requirement to carry a separate, dedicated payment card. Now Bilt members will be notified which items from their Walgreen’s shopping trip are eligible and easily apply a credit to their original form of payment from their FSA/HSA card.

2) Enhanced Rewards: Bilt Members earn 1x Bilt points on all Walgreens purchases, 2x points on Walgreens-branded items, and 100 Bilt points on prescription refills – subject to certain exclusions – all in addition to their usual card rewards.

These points are in addition to any points awarded by the card used by a member to shop at Walgreens.

In addition, coming soon are complimentary photo prints for locals to capture and relive their memories. I want to reiterate that Bilt does not ever sell member data and that extends to this partnership as well. Full terms of the partnership are available on the Bilt website: https://www.biltrewards.com/terms/walgreens

I did personally ask Bilt in advance of this article about the prescriptions to triple check that Bilt is not receiving your prescription data and that confirmed that the only data they get is that a prescription was filled. They do not get any lists of your medications.

I personally had to shift away from Walgreens because our local store’s pharmacy was just too unstable. So I’ll be hoping that CVS is next on their list 😉
