Previously, Marriott had extended certificates expiring in 2020 to January 31, 2021, along side the extension of Marriott Bonvoy status through Feb 1, 2022.
I have some good news.
In this article
Marriott Extends Expiration for Free Night Certificates
All Marriott Bonvoy Free Night Awards that would have expired Jan. 31, 2021 will now expire August 1st, 2021. This applies to all Free Night Awards, including those attained by credit card benefit, annual choice benefit, promotions or a travel package redemption. If you have an award expiring in early 2021, it will also be extended to August 1st, 2021.
Note that you won’t see this reflected in your Bonvoy account until Dec 11, 2020.
Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card: Earn 75,000 Bonus Marriott Bonvoy Points after you use your new Card to make $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of Card Membership. Terms apply. | How to apply for this offer.
Marriott Also Extends Points Expiration Date Again
Additionally, points expiration will be paused until August 1st, 2021 as well. At that time, your points would expire if you’ve had zero activity in 24 months, but remember that even the smallest activity, like Eat Around Town, counts.
Remember that Suite Night Awards expiring in 2020 have already been extended to Dec 31, 2021.
