My post about the Marriott “29 Ways to Win” sweepstakes got a lot of clicks. No surprise, everyone likes free points!
In that post, I said to be sure to enter every day. My first day won me just 50 points, but I saw reports of people winning 20,000 and, besides, even if I won just 50 points every day, I’d never get as many as Marriott gave away weekly during their NFL Twitter promos.
Win or lose, I’d have thought it fun regardless. And given how many instant prizes they say are available “per day” it was entirely logical to think it would be a daily instant win.
But I don’t think it is. I’ve played every day since and every day all I get is a lousy entry into the grand prize draw. That’s one prize. I don’t expect to win that.
So I posted on the MilesTalk Facebook group to see what else people are getting. Most said they won one time. One person says they won an Instant Win prize twice. I’m suspicious because when I dug into the rules I noticed: Limit one (1) Instant Win Prize per person.
And here’s the rub: If everyone that played Day 1 was competing against each other, and let’s assume a majority of people played the first day as it was heavily promoted, then everyone playing for the first time now has a much better shot at a better prize. So by all means, if you haven’t played it yet, you should.
The 50 points seem to count as my one prize. And if so, what a crummy contest. About as exciting as the current Megabonus.
Any more data points from people getting more than 1 Instant Win?
Let me know on Twitter, or in the private MilesTalk Facebook group.
