Chase just updated the bonus offers on the Bonvoy Boundless and the Bonvoy Bold cards.
The Bold offer has doubled and if that’s the card you are in the market for, it’s obviously twice as good of a deal. However, I can think of very few people that this card is better for than the Boundless except someone dead set against ever paying an annual fee, even for the first year.
The Boundless offer will be more appealing to some and less appealing to others than the previous offer in that some people only want points and not certificates. However, now that certificates can be topped off, the 50,000 point certs in the previous offer could be topped off up to 65,000 points.
I think the two types of people that might enjoy this offer more are if you normally use your points at hotels that are more than 65,000 points or if you are going to do a 5th night free (in my opinion the best way to redeem in most cases), since the free night certificates cannot be used as part of a 5th night free award, even if using 5 certificates.
Lastly, points never expire as long as you have account activity every 24 months whereas the certificates expire in a year.
