Hyatt announced today that the Rio is now fully participating in World of Hyatt, allowing members to spend and earn points as well as get a normal Globalist breakfast for those with top tier Globalist status.
This is the first true Hyatt on the strip (well, just off the strip) and will be especially welcomed since Hyatt and MGM broke up last year.
It’s under the Destination by Hyatt brand (if you are ticking off hotels on your Brand Explorer where every 5 new brands gets you a free Category 1-4 stay valid for 6 months) and is a Category 3, requiring from 9,000 to 15,000 points a night. Given that cash rates are often under $00, this is probably not a great place to spend points unless it’s a very high occupancy day and they still have a “standard” room to sell for points.
World of Hyatt is offering members 500 Bonus Points for every qualifying night at Rio Hotel & Casino from April 1 to June 30, 2024, as part of the new hotel bonus point offer.
