During COVID, Hyatt suspended most category changes. On March 25th, 2021, they will be adjusting 9 hotels up a category and 1 down a category. The change will happen at 8am CDT.
While none of this is earth shattering, those of us in the NYC metro area may shed some tears, as the best local Category 1 hotel for mattress runs and a fan favorite during the recent drive for Globalist – the Hyatt Place Paramus – will be moving from a Category 1 (5,000 points a night) to a Category 2 (8,000 points a night).
I don’t know anyone that has ever stayed at the Hyatt Place Fair Lawn/Paramus, but I know a great many that have stayed at the Hyatt Place Fair Lawn/Paramus.
Anyway, here are the hotels and how they are adjusting.
