Last week, we saw the return of the “Use one Amex point at Amazon and get up to $60 off” offer. Many who had previously used a similar offer were again eligible. It’s not clear how long it has to be to become eligible again.
This week, two other similar “Pay with one point” offers have returned.
In this article
Citi and Capital One “Pay With One Point” Offers
Disclosure: We may earn a commission on items purchased from Amazon when you use our links.
Citi: Pay with at least one Citi ThankYou point and get $20 off a $50 purchase. (Activation link)
Capital One: Pay with at least one Capital One mile and get $10 off $40. (Activation link)
It’s possible you’ll be offered some other variant as well, based on the recent Amex deal.
If you don’t already have your respective ThankYou card or Capital One “miles” earning card linked, you would need to do that first.
It will take at least 24 hours after linking an account for the first time before you would (maybe) get the offer so bookmark to try again then.
What Can You Buy?
Anything sold and shipped by Amazon. Nothing else will work.
Third party gift cards sold by Amazon should be fine as well.
How to Checkout
Then, at checkout, make sure your Citi or Capital One card (depending on the offer you qualified for) is set for the payment method. At that point it will default to using points for the whole purchase. Change that.
You want to use *one point* for one cent off. (Don’t use more as the rate they give you per point is not very good.)
If the rest was done properly, you’ll see the discount off reflected on your checkout page.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The next time you checkout, be sure you aren’t paying with all point by default as Amazon changes your default payment method.
You should also read all the applicable terms and conditions on each of the promotion pages.
