Status Match to Frontier Airlines Gold – Ends Weds April 30
Frontier isn’t my personal go-to airline but they sure are on the rise, even launching true First Class later this year.
And they really want to take advantage of how Southwest is basically self-destructing, taking away every unique selling proposition it has (EXCEPT for the Famous Southwest Companion Pass!).
All you need is a Southwest Rapid Rewards account (no status required!!) and Frontier will match you to Gold for just $40 <– Link to Match page.
You have to have joined Rapid Rewards before April 16th, 2025 to qualify and status will last through Dec 31, 2025.
That will get you things like:
That carry on bag? Worth $54 to $99 (insane, I know). So… worth $40? It would seem that if you’l take one flight, you’re ahead!
You also get:
- Preferred seat at Booking
- Premium seat at Check-in
- UpFrontPlus 4 hour to departure
- Priority Boarding Zone 1

Status Match to CitizenM
Can’t say this is a chain I’ve ever stayed at with all of 36 hotels, but they are being acquired by Marriott and they have a status match. As Gary from View from the Wing points out, maybe (although I think the odds are slim!) Marriott gives some sort of reciprocal status?
To me, it’s worth the 3 minutes to open the CitizenM account and do the status match to CitizenM+.
File this under “unlikely to pay off but what if it does and you didn’t match??”
