Nothing earth shaking here, but there are two changes of note:
- Plaza Premium lounges as a network are no longer part of the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or Capital One Venture X Business lounge offering. You still get access to Capital One Lounges and the Capital One Partner Lounge Network, though, which includes Priority Pass – which includes Plaza Premium lounges 🙂 So, nothing to worry about here although there is a chance you could see a change in guest access since in some cases, the Plaza Premium policy of 2 guests could be more than they allow with Priority Pass.
- The bullet point language on the Venture X used to clearly state unlimited access for you and two guests. That language has been changed to “Enjoy complimentary access to 1,300+ airport lounges worldwide, including Capital One Lounge locations and the Partner Lounge Network”
When I asked for clarification, I was told that “some lounge networks may differ on if guests can accompany the card holder for free or have to pay a discounted fee” – so it is possible you may encounter a situation where you do not get 2 guests, or even one, although until we actually encounter this in the wild I also wouldn’t worry too much about it.
This was only called out on the Venture X though if I had to guess, it applies to the Venture X Business as well.
Thoughts?

Hi Dave, happy to clarify these changes since I was the one who brought them about. Venture X was incorrectly publishing “you and 2 guests” for its Priority Pass benefit through the API feed to its affiliate partners. After going multiple rounds with their compliance department, they weren’t willing to state “unlimited guests” in their API for the benefits list. Instead, the solution was finally just removing any numbers of guests altogether and just being vague. Nothing has changed in this regard. I have confirmed that with Capital One’s PR several times. And Plaza Premium still has a list of eligible lounges for Venture X cardholders. https://www.plazapremiumlounge.com/en-uk/landing-pages/capitalone

Hey Ryan! Definitely appreciate the reply here as it was indeed the API bullet update we received that got me asking my own questions of Capital One 😉
In the world of credit card compliance, I suppose it all kind of sort of makes sense and explains the quote I got stating that there could be exceptions on the free guest policy.
What’s a bit confusing to me in your reply, though, is about Plaza Premium. That used to be explicitly called out as a lounge network by name. It no longer is – anywhere on the C1 lounge page.
Yet according to Plaza Premium’s own website, every single one of their lounges is in Priority Pass.
So that would make it moot UNLESS there’s a difference in guaranteed guest benefits between Plaza Premium via Priority Pass and Priority Pass lounges.
It’s unfortunate, though, because the lounge may not know how many free guests you are entitled to, leading to unexpected guest charges or, in reverse, someone afraid to take the whole family in due to lack of clarity.
If you do indeed have any additional clarity, especially if I’m overthinking it, let me know 😉
I’m a huge fan of clearly defined benefits as I can tell you are as well!
